Thank you for your interest in becoming an ITCT Certified Clinician!

Our ITCT Center has been in transition in early 2024 and we appreciate your patience as our certification program is also evolving.

The biggest change is that we will now be credentialing providers as Certified ITCT Clinicians rather than certified as ITCT-A or ITCT-C providers. We know that many child and adolescent providers utilize ITCT across developmental age-spans and we hope that this change will better meet providers needs. 

Most of the certification criteria will remain the same; however there are a few (minor) changes for trainees who began their certification process on July 1, 2023. For those who began training prior to July 1, 2023 you will be legacied under the old certification criteria. 

Certification criteria require that you are fully licensed within your State (submission of State License) and have a master’s degree or higher in a mental health field.

ITCT Certification Criteria

Requirements

  • You are fully licensed within your State (submission of State License).
  • You have a master’s degree or higher in a mental health field.

Requirements

  • You have completed your live trainings:
    • In-person,
    • Via Zoom, or
    • Through the ITCT-A learning portal (for trainees prior to July 1, 2023).

Requirements

  • You have completed your required consultation meetings:
    • Option A: Six, 90-minute national ITCT calls, or
    • Option B: Nine out of twelve, 60-minute calls with your certified ITCT trainer.
  • You have presented a case during your consultation.
  • You have completed at least one case under consultation.

Requirements

  • Completion of the Rostered Profile Form (submitted via this site).
  • Completion of the ITCT-A Knowledge-Based Quiz (temporarily unavailable due to platform transition).
  • Completion of TWO ITCT-A webinars via the USC website (also temporarily unavailable due to platform transition).

Requirements

  • Completion of three ITCT cases (two cases if prior to July 1, 2023), each including:
    • At least twelve sessions per case (excluding intake).
    • Ideally, a natural termination.
    • At least one case completed under consultation.
    • Use of standardized measures at pre, mid, and post treatment to assess progress.

Requirements
Complete a written case report for a client treated with ITCT for at least 12 sessions, including all three parts:

  • Part I: Client history, risk assessment, and strengths.
  • Part II: Completed Assessment-Treatment Flowchart (ITCT-A or ITCT-C).
  • Part III: Comprehensive treatment plan including interventions, course, and outcomes.
